Hubby: Mom made you bacon for breakfast?
Son: Yep.
Hubby: She’s a goddess.
Son: Yep. Which one?
Hubby: Athene?
Son: Umm… Who’s the minor god of food?

    Kudos to hubby, even if son does seem a little confused. Not only a demotion but a gender change?! Wait! In some eras, the gender change would be a promotion. Maybe you come out even?

    Yup! GEW: son is going into 3rd grade, but got into the Greek pantheon via Percy Jackson, which is as good a way as any to get a grounding in some mythology we figured! Still... harumph.

    Did you read the Percy Jackson stories to him? I haven't read any of them yet, but I should put them on my list. Right now we're reading the Ramona books. I heart Ramona.

    GEW: he read them himself. He's reading a few years above grade level, so the trick is making sure he can handle things emotionally!
