Love Notes

The children got to decorate the front porch, and yard, for Halloween. They then created a carnival style game, beta tested it with each other, and then invited us to try our hand (25 cents for three tries, and a few freebies thrown in).

Then, in an apparent fit of gratitude, they sat down in bed together and wrote us a card. It reads (with a few hearts sprinkled in):

"Dear Mom and Dad.
We love you guys. And girls.
We really, really love you guys.
And girls."

And then, they signed it.

How cool is that?

  2. That's VERY cool! I might pass the game idea onto my kids. Anything they can do to get money from us is very popular.

  3. Thanks, Fie and GEW! The game is actually fun and quite cleverly worked out. They had a range of prizes at different distances, the better prizes being farthest away. All were proven to stick to the "prize grabber." Which is a length of sticky, stretchy "goo" that acts like a toad's tongue and makes a satisfying slap/thump when it lands. The kids are much better at aiming that sucker than either parent, which just means it's a perfect carnival trick: make it look easy, and pilfer quarters from the gullible public!
