I arrived home late last night, after an on campus event, to find a folded note on my pillow. "To mom" it said, from my daughter.
Inside I found a lovely drawing of two fish swimming toward two hooks which were dangling temptingly in front of them. I was in raptures.
My husband's translation: "Mommy sleeps with the fishes."

Never comment on a child's drawing until you've asked the child to comment on it first!
ReplyDeleteObviously husband is no longer a child since he knows how to think figuratively. . . .
BTW, this week's survey has too few choices. A whole world of delicious, surreptitious, less than nutritious choices has been overlooked.

Hi Allison,
ReplyDeleteI agree. But I think the world can be divided, fundamentally, into the savory/sweet food groups, as represented by pizza and cheesecake. What food would you pick?
At midnight? Probably savory. Popcorn, summer sausage on crackers, cajun trail mix. . . .
ReplyDeleteWhat a great little note for you! So funny.
